    Description

Jet magazine from Jan 27, 1955, with singer Pearl Bailey and drummer husband Louis Bellson on the cover; the couple had been married for 2 years, and there were media rumors going around that the couple was getting divorced. In the Jet story they insist they're very happy and not splitting up. (And they would remain married until Pearl's death in 1990!)
Also, a 2 page story on young 22 year old Willie Mays, a  baseball star with the San Francisco Giants. (He had joined the Giants in 1951.)  Was playing winter league games in Puerto Rico too much for Mays? The year round schedule was tiring Mays out and San Francisco fans worried he'd be too worn to play during the regular season.
And Sammy Davis Jr. was in the news, performing his first show since his auto accident two months earlier that cost him one eye. The Jet writer said: Davis staged one of the greatest one-man shows in Sunset Strip history as he made a triumphant return to show business... Sammy played for a full 70 minutes before a cheering throng of celebrities. (The audience included Judy Garland, Humphrey Bogart, Donna Reed, Dorothy Dandridge, Ricardo Montalban and Liberace.)
Plus news of civil rights activitism, Jim Crow racism, sports, entertainment, politics, and lots more.
And, there's a glamour (swimsuit) pinup in the centerfold.
Nice looking issue, 4x6", 66 pages.
