    Description

Single, 2-volt cell.  Measures approximately 14" x 14" x 58" high.  7000 ah (14,000 wh) capacity.  Has dual terminals for each polarity.
Manufactured by Exide.  Intended for use in submarines, but also works well for most large solar arrays and industrial applications.  These batteries are brand new and dry -- they have never been filled with acid.  These batteries are designed to last a lifetime -- 40 to 50 years in submarine applications.
By law, Exide can NO LONGER sell new submarine batteries to ANYONE -- they can only sell them for military use.  Once these batteries are gone, they're gone!
These batteries were originally sold for almost ,000 each, depending on the quantity purchased.  To get a lower price from Exide, you would have to purchase at least 1000 batteries.
Batteries must be filled with conventional acid prior to use (SG=1.260).
Battery has internal provisions for an electrolyte pumping system, which further increases efficiency.
Exide has implemented many improvements in these batteries over the older designs.  They feature very thick calcium oxide-lead positive plates, which all but eliminates gassing and venting during high-current charging.  Extremely low self-discharge rate.  These batteries have extremely durable, fiberglass-reinforced cases.  Six of these batteries would give you a solid 84 kWh worth of energy -- enough to run most homes for several weeks.
These cells can put out almost 5,000 amps continuously -- the highest of any battery in the world -- with virtually no loss of capacity.  Measured with a resistive shunt (+/-8%), these cells peaked at 21,000 amps during a short circuit test that we conducted.
These batteries were tested to 10,000 cycles while under development.  Data on these cells is very limited, since Exide is no longer allowed to release information on any of their submarine cells.  Since these batteries cannot be replaced once installed in the submarine, they were built for a 50+ year service life.  We did a capacity test on a cell after 5 years of use, and it still showed 104% of it's rated capacity.
Each battery has DUAL posts (2 pos, 2 neg) which are also intended to be used as
    lifting points
    for easy installation.
These are "A" stock batteries, which are in like-new condition.  Some have been cosmetically restored, but all are new and have never been activated.
We also have some "B" stock, where the white paint has severely faded (see last picture);  Please inquire about pricing and availability.
We also have a limited number of "C" stock batteries, which were stored outside for several years.  Although covered, they are heavily sun faded and/or weathered.  On these, the solid copper terminals have some light corrosion on them.
We have a total of about 250 batteries remaining, and once they are gone, they are gone -- we cannot get any new ones.  By law, Exide can now only sell this type of battery to government entities.
Weight: 930 lbs (dry), 1068 lbs (when filled with correct level of acid).  We can ship to any terminal in the U.S. and Canada, or drop ship to most commercial sites.  Local pickup is also available (we have forklifts to load).  Please note that the ebay shipping calculator is not always correct; you will be billed for the actual shipping charges AFTER the auction ends.  You are also welcome to use your own shipper.  Shipping or technical questions, please email or call 508-923-9503.
