    Description

Favored by the Horse Warriors of the Banoche of the western Punjab and often found in use by warring tribes extending to Northern Persia. This war pick is a close quarters weapon. Likely designed to penetrate the fine quality chain mail for which the Persian and Northern Indian people were known.
The steel blade has a parrot peak, tapering to a sharp point. The blade and haft are crafted in one piece for strength. Decorative brass overlays the area where the blade joins the haft.
The haft is pattern carved and
adorned with brass. The haft is mounted with a robust bone handle which is incise carved and finished with a brass butt cap.
The blade and haft are dark and have some rust and pitting. I have had this piece for 20 years but decided to leave it in the condition in which I found it .
    Overall length 14" blade 6"
