    Notable Features:
This bracelet was made in the vintage Retro style. Composed of 14k yellow gold, the bracelet
features beautiful Australian fire chip inlay stones and diamonds adorning a bypass bangle design.
The use of such colorful and sparkling stones in this bracelet is a lovely homage to the Hollywood Regency style
which rose to popularity during the Retro period. Eager to show off their wealth and style, Hollywood celebrities and socialites during this time would adorn themselves with glamorous jewelry, usually featuring many colorful precious stones. This bracelet was inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, & Tiffany designs that had influenced the Hollywood Regency style, making the viewer think of the likes of Ava Gardner and Katharine Hepburn.
There are two section of inlaid Australian fire opal stones adorning this bracelet, each of which features a lovely blue hue
    .
The carefully hand-cleaved and inlaid squared cuts of the stones beautifully display the stones' iridescent green, blue, and purple fires
. Backed by a black doublet backing, the Australian fire opal inlay rests securely in yellow gold bezel settings at each end of the band, which overlap in the bypass style. The vibrant hue of the gold is a striking contrast to the blue hue of the opals. In classic Hollywood Regency style, the settings suspend the stones above the band of the bracelet, ensuring they are the focal point of the piece. Adorning one side of each opal section are three diamond stones, for a total of six diamonds to the bracelet. With round brilliant cuts, the diamonds sparkle beautifully when they catch the light. The diamonds rest within 14k yellow gold channel settings and adorn a flowing linear motif, drawing the eye to the piece.
The inside of the 14k yellow gold bracelet is polished for comfortable wear, and the bracelet is meant to worn over the wrist through the two ends of the bracelet, which can be pulled apart for ease of wear. The generous amount of 14k yellow gold used in the bracelet gives it an impressive item weight value of 0.
A lovely modern tribute to the Hollywood Regency jewelry of the Retro period, this bracelet would make a valuable addition to any jewelry collection. Don't miss your chance to become a part of this bracelet's history.
    Damage:
Age appropriate wear. There are two dents to the band, but this does not affect wear.

    The History
The Art Deco era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. Jewelry from this period was most often crafted between 1920 and 1940. Art Deco jewelry sometimes featured white gold or platinum, geometric designs, European cut diamonds, filigree, and calibre cut stones that are specifically cut to fit the design of the piece. During the Art Deco period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
Retro jewelry refers to pieces created in the 1940s and 1950s. This was a period during which jewelry designers were largely influenced by the changes stemming from World War II. These designs reflect an infusion of futuristic vision with elements inspired by preceding periods, encompassing a variety of gemstones, shapes, and materials. Materials used commonly in Retro jewelry are gold, gold alloys, and silver as the wartime put a restriction on the use of platinum. Designs can be masculine, geometric and modern, or softer, more feminine and floral.
The Hollywood Regency style came into fashion during the 1930s, ushered along by the Golden Age of Hollywood. This style was heralded by bright, contrasting colors and modernization of the opulence of Baroque styles, featuring a deliberately frivolous extravagance that screamed glitz and glamour. “Big girls need big diamonds” was taken to heart, and the gorgeous Hollywood stars decked themselves appropriately, with blindingly glittering jewels to showcase their lives of luxury.
Discovered in the second half of the 19th century in Australia, fire opals rose to popularity amongst the aristocracy of the Victorian era, both within Australia and beyond. Queen Victoria herself was well-known for her appreciation of the stone, owning an entire collection of jewelry featuring the stunning stone. Mined in Australia and exported to the rest of the world, this new variety of opal was available to only the wealthiest of aristocrats.
As the name suggests, these opals are known for their intense flashes of fire, which usually appears a vibrant red, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, and purples, among other hues. They are typically cut into cabochons that show off their fire and are perfectly suited to a variety of different jewelry pieces.
Diamond is derived from the Greek word, “adamas,” which means “unbreakable.” Diamonds are extremely rare, with the earliest diamonds being discovered in India around the 4th century BC and being traded along the Silk Road; the trade route between India and China. During the latter half of the 18th century, diamonds were discovered in South Africa. Diamonds are renowned for their strength and brilliance of color and ability to reflect and disperse light. This is what gives them such a brilliant sparkle. Colors range in blue, yellow, brown, green, purple, pink, orange, and red; the less color a diamond has, the higher its grade is. Diamonds range from 1 billion to 3.5 billion years old, and because of their age and qualities, have become the symbol for love across many cultures.
