ROY COX THIMBLE DROME CHAMPION “RESTORED” VINTAGE TETHER CAR

Up for your consideration at a BIN price, is a restored Roy Cox Thimble Drome Champion Tether Car. This particular car is out of my personal mite collection and has undergone a complete cosmetic restoration. The “Champion” was built in the mid 60’s. When we acquired this car it had evidence of being raced, but was surprisingly in good shape. We decided to cosmetically restore, clean, polish and display w/ the rest of the collection. It features a Cameron .19 engine, which turns smoothly and has a healthy “POP”.. The engine has (1) small fin on top that was had been broken off, but hardly noticeable and does not effect the function in anyway. The car is painted using automotive base/clear coat paint. The top is Chevy Orange and the bottom is Old Ford Blue. Both were polished to a high lustre. Standard decals were applied, except the cowl decal. This particular decal was given to me from a good friend and is a replica of what was placed on the drivers side cowl when a car qualified at INDY. The original decals were 6” long..If you have been looking for a museum quality Thimble Drome to add to your collection, this would definitely be a candidate. I am very particular and attention to detail is a must...All parts are NOS to the car except: tires and exhaust pipe. Unfortunately these had seen better days and would not live up to my standards.
