Introductory Stained Glass Class in Layton, Utah
FALL 2013
This class will be held in our full-time glass studio in Layton, Utah. The number of students is limited to four – five students. It is designed for the stained glass student who has limited experience in stained glass design and construction. It is assumed that this is your first exposure to stained glass constr
uction. During the class the student will complete two projects, one provided by the instructor and the second selected by the student from a selection provided by the instructor.

If you miss a session a makeup class will be scheduled either during the week or at the end of the class. If you miss more than two classes you will be encouraged to take the class over. Credit will be given towards a makeup class. Cash refunds will not be given.
Certain precautions during the class are taken to limit lead exposure.
Wearing an apron (available). Leaving apron at studio.
Wearing a mask (when necessary)
Running the exhaust fan during soldering and using chemicals ie. Patina.
Wearing gloves when using patina and at other times when instructed.
If you continue to do stained glass work, a yearly blood lead determination for lead should be done.
No eating.
Drinking from closed containers only. (Bottles or closed glasses)
Eye protection either prescription glasses or safety glasses.
Long pants.
Closed toe shoes (No sandals)

project is included. The costs include the pattern, glass, foil or lead, solder, patina (if needed), polish and wire hangers. The cost for your 2

project will vary based on your selections.
Access to use any studio equipment to complete your projects will be provided following instruction on its proper use. Please do not use any equiptment with out prior instruction
If you decide to purchase any tools, let us know and we can save you some money.
Come to the class to have personalized fun and learn the fundamentals of stained glass construction.
There will be additional classes that will cover advanced techniques.
If you decide to make Thanksgiving and or Christmas gifts, additional classes and work sessions will be available to complete your projects.
