Preparation and Care Instructions for the pampas experience! It’s to let the flowers be exposed to the sun for 6-8 hours so that they will grow fluffy. Give them a good shake outdoor before bringing indoors to allow excess plume shedding to occur. Afterwards, trim the stem to your desired length or to fit the length of the vase. Make sure to also trim/remove any remaining thorns. The flowers would last longer if they are sprayed with floral sealant or hairspray. This ensures the stems stay put and keep the shedding at bay. In general, three to six stems (reeds) are sufficient for one vase. You can use some decorative ribbons to tie the base to give it a highlight. Pampas grass do not require water. Respray hairspray or floral sealant every 6 months to maintain fullness. Good interior design tip: place the vase of pampas grass against a wall that has muted but pigmented color (not too dark color).
