    nches. This photograph is of Boris Petrovich Sablin. During WWII he was a colonel, a commander in the tank forces, a deputy commander of the 180th Tank Brigade. He was awarded many medals and orders, including 4 foreign awards. He received the first order of the Great Patriotic War 1st class for the battles in the Belgorod direction, he was deputy commander, and was helping the commander make important decisions. He was personally present at the battlefields under intensive enemy artillery fire and aviation bombings, and showed himself as a brave and courageous commander. His brigade successfully reflected enemy attacks and caused huge damage and destruction to the enemy destroying 98 enemy tanks of which 17 were heavy tanks, 11 machine guns, 18 automobiles, 45 cannons, 3 motorcycles, 1 bunker, 1 observation point, and 1210 soldiers and officers.
    He later became the head of the personnel department in the tank and mechanized troops on the 2nd Belarussian Front, he received many of the awards for his work there, he had the important job of keeping up with the losses and providing new personnel to the divisions.
    He received medals for the liberation of Warsaw and the capture of Koenigsberg.
