    Description

    Original vintage photographs. They
    measure approximately
    3 x 4 I
nches. These photographs are of Adolf Zakharovich Friedman. The photographs show him when he was a lieutenant and then colonel. During WWII he was a commander in the 25th Guards Howitzer Artillery Regiment in the 7th Guards Rifle Division.
He was a defender of Moscow and got the order of the Red Star for a battle in 1942, his battery was firing at the enemy and destroyed a cannon, a heavy machine gun, destroyed 2 houses (one with Germans inside of it), also hit a cellar with ammunition, explosions of it were visible near the destroyed cannon. Besides that, there was fire at the enemy barracks and dugouts, one dugout was destroyed, one burnt, resulting in high amount of injuries on enemy's side, they were seen putting many injured soldiers on carts and pulling them towards the village Korovytchino. There was also successful fire at the enemy infantry near Kobylkino, one observation point and one mortar crew was destroyed with minimal use of ammunition and without any losses on our side. (he was nominated for the order of the Red Banner but got the order of the Red Star instead).
