nches. This photograph is of Vitaliy Antonovich Pilatovich. During WWII he was a commander of headquarters in the 460th Separate Guards Mortar Division in the 321st Guards Pushkin Mortar Regiment. He received his first order of the Red Star for reflecting 6 enemy counterattacks, destroying 2 battalions of enemy infantry and 2 enemy mortar batteries. (see screenshot 1) He received the order of the Great Patriotic War 2nd Class for offensive battles in 1944, his mortar battery would open fire at the counterattacking enemy within 2-3 minutes after being notified, because of his excellent work the division reflected 23 enemy counterattacks, destroyed up to a battalion of infantry, up to 10 anti-tank cannons, one self propelled artillery unit (tank hunter), up to 30 automobiles and up to 15 horse carts. (see screenshot 2) He received the second order of the Red Star for his actions in 1945 in the Vienna direction. His division destroyed three enemy tanks and scattered up to a battalion of enemy infantry. (see screenshot 3) He also received the "For The Defense Of Leningrad" and "For Capture Of Vienna" medals.
